Our dedication goes further
Our dedication to UK angling goes further than designing and making great gear. Angling sees effort and commitment every week from people who also place great value on their sport. We at Daiwa try to embrace our share of that responsibility by 'reinvesting' in organisations, initiatives and events whose aim is to provide you with great fishing experiences.
The Guernsey Open Bass Festival

The Guernsey Open Bass Festival

The bass is the true ‘silverware’ target of The Guernsey Open Bass Festival and we are delighted to be a co sponsor. Five days of beautiful fish and awesome sport saw a wide mix of competitors pursuing the glittering prize.

Hundreds of beach anglers countrywide converge on the east coast, on and around the Humber, to fish The Daiwa Open. They are seeking out one big fish that could land them the big purse and access to a quite brilliant prize table.

The European Federation of Sea Anglers invited Daiwa to support the 2009 EFSA Light Line and Boat Championship and we are pleased to continue our support in the 2010 EFSA Shore Championship.

2009 also saw the first Carron Valley Masters fly fishing event in partnership with The Scottish Sun newspaper. Over a hundred skilled fly fishermen took part in one of the first ‘all catch and release’ competitions. They fought their way through qualifiers and semi’s to get a ticket for the big day. The thirty six finalists challenged the wild browns and powerful ‘bows’ aiming to land that holiday of a life time. The 2010 event is certain to grow, with even bigger prizes up for grabs.

Scunthorpe Pisces AC

Scunthorpe Pisces AC

For the last three years, on a small but important level, we have also assisted with an annual event ran by Scunthorpe Pisces AC, in partnership with Scunthorpe police. Young anglers of all age groups and abilities rub shoulders and compete for prizes and trophies. They all have a great and memorable time but most importantly they are being encouraged onto the bank under skilled supervision, learning more than just fishing.

Angling Trust 2009 Schools National

Angling Trust 2009 Schools National

Serving the development and protection of angling is the Angling Trust and thanks to them and others alike it is good news that angling in schools may be emerging in lessons. Inter school competitions may have been around for some time but we were especially pleased to sponsor the Angling Trust 2009 Schools National, which hosted 29 teams of 5. Held at and ran by Daiwa Hallcroft the day proved a massive success and we are certainly looking forward to a bigger event in 2010.
