First up was Hull Angling Centre…
Daiwa consultants Julian Cundiff and Brian Skoyles were on hand to support the opening of a brand new shop serving East Hull and the surrounding district.
For many years there has been a tackle shop called Everetts on Holderness Road, East Hull, but from March 2009, this has change. Everetts has moved to new premises, undergone a complete make over and got a new name.
Hull Angling Centre, as it is now called, is a large spacious shop, where you have plenty of space to browse the well stocked shelves. Julian and Brian spent the day at the shop as part of its grand opening weekend.

Armed with rig materials and various baits for demonstrations, Jules and Brian were happy to chat to customers visiting the shop for the first time. Most entered the competition, and who wouldn’t, with the chance to win an Infinity Bivvy, or Infinity Bed chair or Sleeping bag.
In these days of Credit Crunch and recession it’s great to see a new shop coming along. It’s perfectly placed to serve the anglers of East Hull, and Daiwa wish them every success.
Then Chapmans of Hull had a three day Open day…
A huge, well stocked, shop in the Hessle area to the west of the city, this was the third open day Chapmans have held, and Daiwa were once again pleased to attend.
Complete with our new promotional stands, first on the Friday, Bob Roberts held the fort, with Julian Cundiff and Brian Skoyles on the Saturday, and Brian again on the Sunday.

There was a lot of interest in the new products, and once again the guess the boilies in the jar proved popular. Not surprising really when you think of the prizes on offer.
And finally on to Westlands…
Westlands is a complex of lakes and a large well stocked shop on the B1244 road to Hornsea. This was a bit different to the other two open days in that Daiwa had Martyn and Brian Skoyles fishing, with Jules on hand to look after questions on rigs and baits.

There was a large marquee behind the fishing area, which was a great idea as the weather was not very kind to us and we had some very heavy showers and gale force winds for part of the day. Never the less Martyn and Brian had several carp, although the larger ones in the lake eluded them on the day.
Jules was kept busy with the rig questions, and once again the guess the boilies competition was very popular.
Highlight of the day had to be Colin Shipton, (Daiwa Representative for the area) getting in on the action, with a fish on one of Brian’s rods. Mind you he did need Jules to help net it and hold the fish for him!
With June upon us it’s time to be out on the banks. If you’ve been to one of the shows, we hope you enjoyed it, and maybe won one of the prizes.
If not with a bit of luck we’ll see you later in the year. Good fishing!!!!
