47lb common on Black Widow Carp Rods

Following their launch at the end of last year our Black Widow range of carp rods have started to cause something of a stir in the carp world.

Available for under £50, the three models in the range feature low profile soft touch grips, a half hood reel seat, and low friction aluminium oxide guides. It’s easy to see why a number of anglers have been left impressed when using them out on the bank, including our own carp consultant Brian Skoyles…

“Having initially seen the Black Widow Rods at a trade show last year I knew that if they performed anywhere near as good as they looked, they would do very well. I immediately ordered a set of 2.75tc, and looked forward to using them. Frozen ponds made life a bit difficult to start with, but now spring is here at last I’ve been able to put them through their paces and the tradeshow impressions have been confirmed on the bank. Nice action, both for casting, and for playing fish. I’m using mine with a Regal 4000BRi reel, and the balance is excellent.”

Andrew Dickinson, from Gillingham in Dorset has also been in touch to report a session to remember on Mayflower Pool in Southern France. Fishing PVA bags at range Andrew told us of a multiple fish catch topped by a superb 47/10 common. Andrew was using the 12ft 3.25tc Black Widows and said of the rods…

“The rods were a delight to use, and absorbed the powerful lunges the fish made during the fight with ease. I would recommend these rods to anybody”

If you are looking for a quality, budget rod, then the Black Widow just might be exactly what you are looking for.
