Carp Show Zwolle 2014

For carp anglers across Europe the Carp Show in Zwolle (Holland) is the centre of ‘all things carp’. Held recently on February 8th and 9th, all five halls in the Ijsselhallen showcased the industries top brands with our team from Daiwa UK, Daiwa Holland and Daiwa Germany in attendance for the 4th year in a row

This year’s show was a monumental occasion for show organiser Mick Paine as he and everyone connected with the show celebrated the shows 20th anniversary. This occasion celebrated with the best attendance Carp Zwolle has ever seen with the number of attendees being narrowly shy of 15,000.

The Carp Show allows us to present a variety of quality carp gear from rods and reels to a wide range of luggage and accessories. With a number of new rods in the Daiwa UK line up we were able to showcase the new UK made Infinity Slim Power, Infinity Magnum Taper and Whisker DF rods for visitors to feel and test the action. Developed with Danny Fairbrass and tested by Team Korda the new Whisker DF’s were an instant hit. They now join an illustrious stable with the Basia, Infinity, Longbows.

Our unique stand also hosted 54 reels from the Daiwa family as well as our special glass cabinet which contained rare Japanese Surf reels which stopped everyone in their tracks and brought out the tackle tart in them all. Although some are a few years old they still attract a lot of attention and questions because even today they demonstrate the future direction of reel design.

The star attraction of our reels which feature in our 2014 range was definitely the Tournament Basiair. Many were eager to see just how special this reel is and why it commands such a price tag. For all of the technical questions Ty Hasegawa from Daiwa Germany was able to answer any questions about Daiwa reels. With such a large display of reels visitors had the perfect opportunity to feel and compare model to model.

Aside from the Basiair and reels in the cabinet we even had the re released Tournament Whisker SS1600 classic on show. That certainly proved popular too.

For those who attended we also had a subtle message on some banners above each of the reel displays. This showed something entitled “Cast’izm” which we hope to tell you more about in the very near future.

While both the rods and reels were on one side of our stand the other side proved to be very busy as well. With a wide variety of Infinity luggage and a large screen showing off extracts from the new Korda Carp Fishing Masterclass DVD it certainly kept many entertained due to the high quality of content featured.

We also set up a technology demo of Mag Sealed oil which is used in several of our reels. The demonstration could be used freely by the visitors and they could see the mind boggling ability of this magnetised oil that is unique in some Daiwa reels.

With keen anglers coming from countries such as Denmark, Sweden, Belgium and Germany, the Carp Show in Zwolle is one of the best shows of the year for companies and anglers. With the numbers increasing every year the show feels that it will continue to go from strength to strength.
