A NewEra of Casting Days

Premier Daiwa stockist Somers of Aberdeen recently hosted a well attended casting day at 'The Bothy' on the River Dee.

Well over 100 anglers braved the cold windy conditions to get their hands on the latest rods from a number of top brands and have a cast on the famous river Dee.

Without doubt the most sought after range was the NewEra. All models were furnished with reels and lines and Daiwa Consultant Hywel Morgan was on hand to give some guidance, tips and assistance when required. Have a look at the video of Hywel demonstrating the NewEra salmon rods.

Daiwa's Stuart Reid added "There wasn’t a moment when all the NewEra rods were on the display. In fact we actually had a queue for some of the models."

Despite the turbulent conditions the visitors proved very determined to try out the excellent choice laid on by well known companies. However it proved satisfying for Daiwa Consultant Hywel Morgan to be so busy, considering the near 1000 mile round he faced!

"What an absolute fantastic day. Even the miserable weather did not put people off and the NewEra rods were being cast both on the water and the bank. It has to be one of the busiest days I have had at a show in a long time with everybody wanting to test the rods and get some advice. Everybody's reaction to the new range was out of this world."

The final word comes from Colin Craik of Somers of Aberdeen – "We were delighted by the popularity of the casting day. Our thanks to Daiwa and especially Hywel who was great with customers, getting them casting with the NewEra rods."
