For the fourth year running Daiwa have been happy to support Scunthorpe Police Angling Club with their Junior events. Club Secretary Martin Ferraby invited me along to the final match and I was only to glad to go.

Martyn Skoyles left it late when just minutes before having to pack up and return home he caught a UK personal best 30lb 10oz common.

A 50lb catfish proved to be the perfect end to Neville Fickling's time targeting the species this year, although having forgotten his landing net it took a leap of faith to glove land the monster.

Daiwa Sea Consultant Steve Souter romped to a second consecutive victory in the two-day EFSA Scotland Cod Festival fished out of Arbroath on May 24/25.
