"It was one of those sods law nights when I’d reloaded the van with all the gear. Unfortunately I realised I'd taken the landing net out to de pong and consequently left it at home. Never fear I thought finding a well worn glove in the van" said Nev.
"Just before midnight the 25mm boilie was picked up and I realised that for the first time I was going to have to mouth land a cat. While this is a perfectly normal thing to do with 185lb catfish it's not something I had the experience of doing before. I careful grabbed the lower jaw and out she came. Only when I weighed it did I realise it was a new personal best for me and also for the Daiwa Manton complex.
I’ve now stopped fishing for cats having had 6 fish so far this year, with 5 of them over 32lb. I’ll have another go next year."
