Although a carp consultant, Brian likes fishing full stop, and as this gallery illustrates Brian likes to catch fish of all species. Take a look at some of the highlights from the last year or two.
Happy New Year. First fish of 2007. An immaculate North Lincs, Mid twenty Pike. What a start to the new year!
Wet and happy, after stalking this stunning Mirror. As I walked down to the shallow end of the lake, I found two fish sending up puffs of silt, in the margins, this was one of them... Caught in 2ft of water, under the rod top, awesome!
Just after first light on an East Yorkshire gravel pit. Bitterly cold, a light sprinkling of snow... I'm awake and out, but are the pike?
I have a real love hate relationship with cats. If I'm fishing for them deliberately, I marvel at their power and endurance, but if I'm carp fishing and they wipe out my carefully laid traps as they tow me all round the lake, I'm not so sure... this one was one of the not so sure type!
One of my personal favourites. This 3lb plus Perch took several trips, and a lot of hours fishing, before it succumbed to my double red maggot hook-bait.
An early season cracker from Etang Meunier for the Discovery TV cameras. We hoped for a forty and got it good style, just missing the 50lb by ounces, but who cares.
Float fishing in the margins with a single Trigga Ice Pellet was the downfall of this lovely Crucian.
Not the best picture ever, or my biggest Barbel, but the result of a really atmospheric evenings fishing on the River Trent. A setting summer sun, turning everything red and orange, clear water flowing between streamer weed, and a rod wrenched round... Can you ask for more?
A hard week in stiflingly hot temperatures, but with fish like this, who cares? Etang de la Horre in the Champagne Region of France and a 40lb plus grass Carp... Reach for the Champagne, it would be rude not to , whilst I’m here.
A fish caught using my favourite tactics... summer floater fishing. A lovely old warrior, from North Lincs. Oh for those lazy, hazy days of summer, just give me one rod and a bag of mixers!
It's all about enjoyment, even if you are out in a boat baiting up and the heavens open... Sometimes you've got to just go with the flow, or should it be splash, splash, drip, drip!
Put the Tournament Basia on an Infinity Magnum rod, and it just feels right. If you want tackle perfection, from a match made in heaven... look no further!
